Staying in Tokyo? Meet at our Yokohama studio at midday, shoot two Mt. Fuji locations, and be back by evening. Routes, schedule and prices for a day-trip photoshoot.
Most couples who travel to Japan for a Mt. Fuji photoshoot are staying in Tokyo. The good news is that the whole shoot fits into a single day trip: you arrive at our Yokohama studio at midday, we drive you to the mountain, and you are back in Yokohama in the evening. This guide explains where to meet, how to get there from Tokyo, what the day looks like and what it costs.
Meet at the Yokohama studio, not in Tokyo
On the day of the shoot you come to WEDDING AVENUE Yokohama, where hair, makeup and dressing are done before departure. Everything happens at the studio, so there is no changing at the location. From there, our team drives you to Lake Yamanaka and Hana no Miyako Park and back. You do not need to arrange any transport beyond the train to Yokohama.
Consultations and fittings, if you have time before the shoot, can be held at any of our three Tokyo studios (Tokyo Station, Minami-Aoyama and Omotesando), at Yokohama, or online before you travel. If you would prefer to meet us at the location, ask us when you enquire.

Getting to the Yokohama studio from Tokyo
The studio is 3 minutes on foot from Nihon-odori Station, exit 3, on the Minatomirai Line, or 7 minutes from Kannai Station (JR / Blue Line). From central Tokyo it takes around 40 minutes.
| From | Route | Time |
|---|---|---|
| Tokyo Station | JR Tokaido Line or Yokosuka Line to Yokohama, then the Minatomirai Line to Nihon-odori | about 40 min |
| Shinjuku | JR Shonan-Shinjuku Line to Yokohama, then the Minatomirai Line to Nihon-odori | about 45 min |
| Shibuya | Tokyu Toyoko Line, which runs straight through onto the Minatomirai Line to Nihon-odori | about 40 min |
| Haneda Airport | Keikyu Line to Yokohama, then the Minatomirai Line to Nihon-odori | about 40 min |
| Narita Airport | Narita Express direct to Yokohama, then the Minatomirai Line to Nihon-odori | about 1 h 50 min |
Leaving central Tokyo around 11:00 gets you to the studio comfortably for a 12:00 start. Full details, including a map, are on the Access page.

About 7.5 hours from arrival to return. You start at midday and finish in Yokohama in the evening, so the whole shoot is a day trip from Tokyo. For the Nagoya schedule and what to bring, see Your Mt. Fuji photoshoot day.

Where you can have a consultation and fitting
Consultations are available at all seven of our studios and online. For couples staying in Tokyo, the three Tokyo studios are the most convenient.
| Studio | Style | Nearest station |
|---|---|---|
| WEDDING AVENUE Tokyo Station | A modern studio, "an extraordinary space of hospitality" | Hatchobori / Tokyo Station |
| WEDDING AVENUE Minami-Aoyama | A lounge studio, "a hideaway for adults" | Omotesando |
| WEDDING AVENUE Omotesando | A maison studio, "a refined art space" | Omotesando |
Fittings can be done at the studio where you consult. If your schedule in Japan is tight, start with an online consultation from home; we go through the plan and the day, and shortlist outfits so the fitting is quick. On the kimono plan the fitting can be done on the morning of the shoot.

The two locations
In one day you visit Lake Yamanaka, which faces Mt. Fuji head-on across the water, and Hana no Miyako Park with its seasonal flower fields. At the lake we photograph you on the sandbar, on the boardwalk and, when the wind drops, with the mountain reflected in the water. At the park, the flowers change with the season; beyond them are the willow path and a wide lawn. All seven spots are shown on the locations page.

Prices from Yokohama
Departing from Yokohama carries no departure surcharge; the plan price is the price. The Two-Location Tour is ¥162,580 in a dress or ¥170,280 in a kimono, tax included, on a weekday. A Saturday, Sunday or Japanese public holiday adds ¥22,000. Plans that add a studio session, a third location or a chapel are compared in Mt. Fuji photo wedding prices and on the Plans & Prices page.
Good to know before the day
Rain, and days when Fuji is hidden
If it rains, you can reschedule free of charge by contacting us before noon the day before. If the mountain is behind cloud, the Mt. Fuji Special Retouch restores it to your favourite 10 photos at no charge. Details are in What if Mt. Fuji is hidden by clouds?
Temperature and clothing
Lake Yamanaka sits at about 1,000 m, roughly 5–6°C cooler than central Tokyo. Bring a front-opening layer to wear between shots without disturbing your hair, and comfortable shoes for walking at the locations.

Your edited photos are delivered about 3 weeks after the shoot. If you are leaving Japan sooner, express delivery is available.
| Delivery | Timing | Price (per style) |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | About 3 weeks after the shoot | Included |
| Express | About 2 weeks | ¥6,600 (tax incl.) |
| Express | About 1 week | ¥11,000 (tax incl.) |
Questions from couples staying in Tokyo
Can we depart from one of the Tokyo studios?
Hair, makeup and dressing for the tour are done at the Yokohama studio, so that is where the day starts. If you would prefer to meet at the location, ask us.
Can we do it as a day trip from Tokyo?
Yes. You arrive in Yokohama at midday and are back there around 19:15. The whole day is about 7.5 hours.
Is there a surcharge for departing from Yokohama?
No. Only Nagoya departures carry a surcharge. Weekend and public holiday shoots carry a surcharge from any studio.
Where can we try on outfits?
At the studio where you have your consultation, including the three Tokyo studios and Yokohama. We can also advise online beforehand.
Can we change at the location?
No. All changing is done at the Yokohama studio before and after the shoot.
Should we book a hotel in Yokohama?
It is not necessary; Tokyo hotels are within easy reach. If you would like to stay nearby, the Minatomirai and Kannai areas are both within walking distance of the studio.
