A Mt. Fuji photoshoot, planned
by a Japanese wedding photo studio
Mt. Fuji Photo Wedding is run by WEDDING AVENUE, a pre-wedding photography company with seven studios in Tokyo, Yokohama, Nagoya and Osaka. We started as a wedding venue in 2006 and have photographed around 20,000 couples. On tour day you get dressed at our Yokohama or Nagoya studio, and our team drives you to two of the most beautiful views of Mt. Fuji: the mirror-like shore of Lake Yamanaka and the flower fields of Hana no Miyako Park.
Everything a couple travelling from abroad needs is in one plan: your wedding dress or kimono, hair and makeup, bouquet and accessories, transport, a photographer who shoots 400 or more frames, and 200 edited photos delivered as digital files.

Compare all plansWhere we take you
The way Mt. Fuji looks in your photos depends entirely on where you stand. Our tour pairs the open lakeshore of Lake Yamanaka with the flower fields of Hana no Miyako Park, both in Yamanakako village at the foot of the mountain.
The mountain, mirrored
The highest of the Fuji Five Lakes, and the one that faces Mt. Fuji head-on. On a still morning the water turns into a mirror and we photograph you with the inverted Fuji. Nothing blocks the view, so long veils and wide skirts look spectacular here.
Flowers to the horizon
Flower fields at the foot of Mt. Fuji that change with the season: tulips in spring, poppies and mustard flowers in early summer, sunflowers and zinnias in summer, cosmos in autumn. A willow-lined path, lawns and a garden terrace give quieter, greener scenes.
Mt. Fuji by season
Mt. Fuji is clearest from November to February. Flower fields peak from mid-July to early October. Whenever you come, the Mt. Fuji Special Retouch covers you if the summit hides behind clouds.
Snow-capped Fuji and tulips
Tulips bloom late April to early May, nemophila from early May to early June. Spring haze can soften the mountain's outline.
Deep green and flower fields
Zinnias from mid-July, sunflowers in mid to late August. Clouds gather on Mt. Fuji more often, so we work with the breaks in the clouds.
Cosmos, then autumn colour
Cosmos from late August to mid-October, zinnias until early October. Clear days increase from October. Lakeside foliage peaks in early November.
The clearest Mt. Fuji
Crisp air and a snow-covered summit on most mornings. Few flowers, so we shoot along the lake and the boardwalk. Expect cold; we help you dress for it.
A 35-year record from Fuji City shows the whole mountain visible at 8 a.m. on about 60% of days in December and January, but on only about 10% of days in July. Bloom times shift from year to year.
A typical tour day from Yokohama
Hair, makeup and dressing are all done at the studio before we leave, so you arrive at the mountain ready to shoot. From Nagoya the drive is about one hour longer each way.
600+ outfits across our seven studios
Wedding dresses, coloured dresses and tuxedos; shiromuku (white kimono), iro-uchikake (coloured kimono) and montsuki hakama for the groom. Fittings take place at the studio, or we advise you online beforehand. Most dresses have a lace-up back and fit Japanese sizes 5 to 15 (roughly US 2–12).
What to expect when you book from abroad
Language
We correspond in English by email. Our photographers and hair and makeup artists are not fluent English speakers, but they have looked after many couples from overseas and will guide you with simple English, gestures and a translation device. You will not be left wondering what to do.
Consultation before you fly
Book an online video consultation from your home country. We go through plans, the schedule of the day and outfit options. Fittings happen at the studio in Japan, usually on a day before the shoot or on the morning of the shoot for the kimono plan.
Payment
Payment is by credit card. A deposit of ¥50,000 secures your date; we email you a secure payment link. The deposit is deducted from the plan price, and the balance is paid by card once your outfits are confirmed.
Your photos
Around 3 weeks after the shoot you receive 200 edited photos as digital files (300 or 350 on the combination plans). Express delivery in 2 weeks or 1 week is available. Albums and prints can be made but ship within Japan only.

Frequently asked
What happens if Mt. Fuji is hidden by clouds on the day?
We shoot as planned, moving between spots as the clouds move. Afterwards, with our Mt. Fuji Special Retouch, we edit your favourite 10 photos so the mountain appears as it would have on a clear day. There is no extra charge. We can even turn a summer Fuji into a snow-capped one.
What if it rains?
You can reschedule for free, as many times as needed. Please let us know by noon the day before the shoot.
Where do we meet?
At our Yokohama studio (3 minutes from Nihon-odori Station, about 40 minutes from Tokyo Station) or our Nagoya studio. Hair, makeup and dressing are done there, then we drive together to Mt. Fuji. Departing from Nagoya adds ¥22,000 and about one hour of driving each way.
How long does the day take?
From Yokohama, about 7.5 hours from arrival at the studio to your return. From Nagoya, about 9 hours.
Can we bring family or children?
Yes. Please tell us the number of people when you enquire so we can arrange transport. The lawns of Hana no Miyako Park are ideal for family photos.
Can I wear a kimono?
Yes. Choose the kimono plan (shiromuku or iro-uchikake for the bride, montsuki hakama for the groom), or combine kimono at Mt. Fuji with a dress in the studio or chapel on the combination plans.
